Diagnosis after diagnosis
In May 2025, Jacek went to a pulmonologist with suspected chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. However, test results showed the presence of a malignant lesion within the lung. After consultations, CT scans and biopsies, a malignant tumor of the bronchus and lung was confirmed.
In the following weeks, in August 2025, thoracic surgery was performed, including radical removal of a lung flap along with mediastinal lymph nodes.
Histopathological examination revealed pleomorphic carcinoma, the nature of which raised suspicions of a distant starting point.
Soon there were alarming signs concerning the right knee. Imaging studies and a biopsy of the thigh performed in September confirmed the diagnosis: undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma of the femur - a rare and very aggressive cancer that rapidly attacks bone structures.
Only then did it become clear that the lung cancer was a metastasis of a sarcoma that had developed in the leg. It was from him that the whole disease began.
Surgery saved lives but took away fitness
On September 30, 2025, the Department of Orthopedics, Traumatology and Musculoskeletal Oncology performed surgery to remove the tumor along with the distal part of the right femur. At the same time, the knee joint and its distal aspect were reconstructed.
Given the severity of the disease, the risk of amputation was real, but fortunately, doctors managed to avoid it.
However, the effects of the surgery are very serious. Jacek currently moves around in a wheelchair or with the help of a balcony. He lives on the second floor, which means that every exit from the house requires support. The simplest activities have become an effort that requires time and strength, which is often in short supply.
Treatment continues
After resecting the tumors , Jacek is waiting for chemotherapy to begin. This stage is expected to help stop the progression of the disease and protect the body from further metastasis. The treatment will be long and aggravating, but it offers hope for stabilization of his condition.
Daily life with pain and hope
Jack's life is nothing like it was before his illness. The surgeries he has undergone, the loss of his dexterity and his inability to return to work have meant that he spends most of his time at home.
Every movement requires effort and every activity requires concentration. The help of loved ones is necessary for him to function and maintain at least a little balance in a difficult daily life.

The funds from the collection will be used for intensive rehabilitation, transportation to medical appointments, and the purchase of equipment to support daily functioning. Every gesture of support helps Jack regain his independence and return, at least in part, to the life he lost as a result of the disease.
