Bartuś has Down syndrome and leukemia. He has not left the hospital room for months❗.

It wasn't easy from the very beginning.

Bartuś was born with Down syndrome. A delicate and unique boy, whose life from the very beginning required more attention, tenderness, and patience than usual.
His parents surrounded him with love greater than fear, determination greater than fatigue. Thanks to their care and daily commitment, he developed calmly and safely.

A fever that wouldn't go away

It appeared suddenly. Immediately very high, persistent, and frightening. Cooling the body had no effect, and medication brought no relief. The parents watched anxiously as the fever weakened the little body. They didn't wait.  At the hospital in Legnica, doctors decided to transfer the boy to Wrocław for further tests. A referral was issued to "Przylądek Nadziei" (Cape of Hope).
There, amid IVs, monitors, and test after test, a diagnosis was made, followed by silence:acute lymphoblastic leukemia type B.

He doesn't say it hurts, but you can see it in his eyes.

Treatment that gives no respite

After the diagnosis, everything was subordinated to one goal – to stop the disease. Bartuś undergoes successive cycles of chemotherapy, steroids, antifungal and painkillers. In addition, there are rinses and other demanding medical procedures that put a heavy strain on his body. He has been in hospital continuously since March 2024.
Every day is a test of strength for him and his loved ones, but no one is giving up.
