Update

Today, Tosia took another step on her journey to health.
Smiling, calm, and full of energy, She bid farewell to her hair with the words, "See you later." Antonina Minginowicz – fundraiser for medical treatmentIt was a difficult moment, but also an extremely symbolic one, because it signified a readiness to continue the fight.

On January 2, Tosia begins her second cycle of chemotherapy at Cape of Hope. After its completion, doctors will repeat all tests to accurately assess the effects of treatment and the next steps. This is a time of intensive therapy, careful observation, and great hope that the body will once again show its strength.

Everything is still so fresh...

A peaceful family moment. An evening movie on the couch—just before bedtime. Dressed in her pajamas and ready for sleep, Tosia suddenly felt a twinge in her ear and neck. Her mother touched her neck and felt an unnatural swelling. The first thought was simple and familiar: maybe it's mumps.

That same evening, my mother made an appointment with our family doctor. The next day, a consultation took place. The doctor examined Tosia and, without hesitation, decided to immediately refer the 12-year-old to Cape of Hope. The series of tests began on the same day.

"Just the day before, we were watching a movie, and a few hours later I was sitting in the hospital praying that it wasn't true," says her mother.

Everything happened faster than I could keep up with. Ultrasound. Blood count. CT scan the next day.
Two days later, lymph node biopsy, PET scan, neck and chest MRI. On December 2, the results came back—Hodgkin's lymphoma.

"When I heard the diagnosis, I felt like my whole world had come crashing down. I wanted to protect her, but there was nothing I could do," admits her mother quietly, as if afraid to break the strength she must maintain.
Life transferred to the ward

Since then, Tosia has been at Cape of Hope. She has two cycles of chemotherapy ahead of her. Then a PET scan, which will determine further treatment.
Her mother explains to her daughter what is happening step by step. She tries to make sure that nothing takes her by surprise, that her fear is no greater than necessary.

"The hardest thing was to look at her and pretend to be calm when everything inside me was trembling," he says.
Build a bridge between two worlds

Tosia's illness brought the whole family's life to a halt. Her mother had to quit her job overnight. Her father works and takes care of their older daughter to keep the household running, which at this time functions like two separate worlds.
The older sister, although responsible and brave, is going through this in her own way. She understands that they have to fight, that this is now the family's goal, but she misses and worries about her younger sister, who always has a place right next to her.

Tosia apart from her illness

Beyond the hospital walls, the world she loves awaits Tosia. Skatepark. BMX riding. Dancing. Recording videos. Today , all these things are on hold. They haven't disappeared, they're just waiting, just like her.

The funds raised will be used for treatment, rehabilitation, transportation, and diet, which during therapy becomes as important as each dose of medication. This assistance gives breathing room to the family, forced to balance the fight for their child's life with everyday life, which offers no concessions.

In the silence of the hospital, Tosia clings to small hopes. Hidden in each of them is a longing for the world that awaits her just beyond the hospital walls, ready to return as soon as she regains her strength.
