First fight against the disease

On the threshold of the eagerly awaited vacation, in June 2021, Antoś increasingly began to complain of leg pains and increasing fatigue, which took the joy out of his daily play. Soon his lymph nodes became enlarged, and petechiae and bruises appeared on his body. Concerned parents immediately went with their son to the hospital emergency department in Zamosc. The doctor reassured them that the symptoms did not indicate anything serious. They returned home with a recommendation for observation, but days passed and the boy's condition did not improve.

Parental intuition did not give them peace. They felt something was wrong. They ordered blood tests privately, wanting to know the cause.

The results they received were dramatic.

Without a moment's hesitation, they rushed with Antos to a hospital in Lublin. There, doctors conducted an in-depth diagnostic, which confirmed their worst fears. The diagnosis was unequivocal: acute lymphoblastic leukemia. High-risk treatment began for the several-year-old boy. Antoś spent long months in the hospital, receiving chemotherapy that lasted as long as seventeen months. There were days of weakness, pain and tears, but also moments when there was hope that the suffering was over.

Hope lasted too short a time

The completed treatment brought the family a much-needed breather. They could finally believe that the worst was behind them. Antoś returned home to his room and his beloved LEGOs. He enjoyed meeting friends again and tried to catch up with his peers at school. It seemed that the disease had been defeated.

After two years of peace, however, news came that once again shattered their world. Resume.

The leukemia returned, this time stronger and more ruthless. For the parents, the feeling of having to go through the same thing again, even though they hadn't yet managed to forget the first time, was a huge blow.

Treatment for the relapse was started in Lublin. However, it soon became clear that the only chance to save Antoś' life was a bone marrow transplant. The family arrived at the Cape of Hope in Wroclaw, where the boy is waiting for a donor. It's a time of uncertainty and immense tension. The disease has not stopped, so doctors are doing everything to keep it in check. Antoś is taking the immune drug Blincyto, which helps stop further progression.

Daily life full of separation and fear

Antoś is in the hospital, away from home, friends and school joys. Being separated from his loved ones and knowing that he has to go through difficult treatment again is a huge burden for him. His parents live under constant stress, dividing their time between the hospital and home, where they care for their grandmother. Both have given up their jobs to be able to be by their son's side at all times.

Every day is a test of strength for them. They have to fight anxiety, exhaustion and that never-ending unknown of whether they will be able to find a donor in time. There are no ordinary days in their world. There are only those in which hope clashes with helplessness.

Win a second time

This is the dream of nine-year-old Antoś, whose life today depends on one man who decides to donate his bone marrow. This gesture could be everything. It can restore the boy to a future where he can go to school again, meet his friends, play soccer and build the LEGO stadium he so often talks about.

The family is doing everything they can, but support is needed to get through this difficult time. Treatment, rehabilitation, specialized medication and psychological care involve costs that are beyond their means. Your help is a chance for Antek to win a second time - this time forever.

Every day is a struggle for life and hope. Antoś is waiting for a donor who will give him a future. Let's help him live to see that moment.
