Cancer for the first time

Victor was just a year and a half old when doctors diagnosed him with a Wilms' tumor on his right kidney. After surgery to remove the kidney along with the tumor, a "stone dropped from the heart" of his loved ones. Victor completed his treatment, returned home, and with him came joy, peace and hope for a continued normal life.

The cancer is back. A different one this time - lymphoma

In May 2023, Victor was again admitted to the Cape of Hope oncology clinic with suspected lymphoma. The suspicion quickly turned into a diagnosis. Intensive oncological treatment was started . Chemotherapy infusions, steroids, numerous tests in Wroclaw and Warsaw. For his mother, time stopped. Day after day - everything subordinated to the hospital rhythm.

Hospital instead of birthdays

A multi-month stay in the hospital is difficult for such a young and active child. When he feels well, he enjoys building Lego towers and cars, watching cartoons, participating in activities organized at the "Cape of Hope". He even spent his fifth birthday in the hospital, as going home was not possible at the time.

No word yet on when he will return

If the treatment goes without complications, Victor and his mother will be allowed to return home. For how long? No one can answer that question. Everyday life is a constant state of limbo - between hope and the need to survive another day.
