Unfortunately, at the end of July 2024, his life suddenly changed.

He began to weaken rapidly, lost his appetite and weight, had difficulty keeping his balance, and bruises appeared on his face under his eyes. Added to this were enlarged lymph nodes, a long-lasting fever and worrisome petechiae on his skin.

His parents immediately took action and went with him to the doctor. Initially a viral infection was suspected, but the results of blood tests showed something much more serious. Simon was immediately transported to a hospital in Szczecin, where he heard a diagnosis that changed everything - B-type acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Treatment with steroids was started immediately, followed by chemotherapy. Fortunately, the first results of the therapy are promising - the cancer cells in the bone marrow have disappeared! However, this is only the beginning of a long road to full health. Simon's treatment is planned for two years, and will be adjusted by doctors on an ongoing basis.
