Update
Surgery was not enough.Ola fights metastasis ❗ In mid-January 2025. Ola underwent an hours-long operation to remove her rectum, sigmoid colon and part of her large intestine. Due to the condition of the disease, a stoma on the small intestine (ileostomy) had to be removed. Unfortunately, histopathological results confirmed the presence of metastases to the surrounding lymph nodes. This means that the disease is progressing. Ola was immediately qualified for intensive chemotherapy - 12 cycles according to the FOLFOX (folinic acid, fluorouracil, oxaliplatin) regimen. The drugs are administered intravenously every two weeks. Due to the severe weakness of the body and poor blood results, treatment does not always go according to plan. Delayed cycles are becoming more frequent. If the therapy works and Ola's body survives all stages, doctors will consider closing the stoma at the end of the year. This would be a breakthrough and the first step toward normality. Closing the stoma would allow intensive physiotherapy and proctological and urogynecological rehabilitation to begin. Without this, Ola may struggle with permanent complications! March 14, 2025

An understated start
Vacation 2023. Ola, then 29 years old, arrives at the emergency room with the first symptoms of the disease. The reported complaints did not prompt doctors to make an in-depth diagnosis. The search for the cause of the pain ended with a routine examination. Time passed and Ola's body screamed in pain louder and louder. The family doctor ordered a A colonoscopy. The image on the screen left no doubt. A large, extensive and aggressive tumor. A few days later the diagnosis was made: advanced malignant neoplasm of the rectum. In an instant, the whole world collapsed. Fear, panic, helplessness.
Treatment that takes more than the tumor
In October, therapy began in preparation for surgery. Daily radiation therapy and chemotherapy lasted a long six weeks. Irradiation covered the pelvis, including the ovaries and uterus. The consequences of the therapy are irreversible: Ola will not be able to have children.
Surgery and life with a stoma
In early 2025, Ola will undergo major surgery to remove the tumor and surrounding tissues. Due to its location , doctors must emerge a stoma. For Ola, ito is not just a treatment. It's a life makeover.
Rehabilitation and the fight for quality of life
Ola faces intensive urogynecological and proctological rehabilitation after the operation . All this so that there are no permanent complications like incontinence, difficulties with defecation or nerve damage. Ola is fighting not only the disease. She fights to live without shame, pain, dependence on others. She is fighting for dignity.
Every penny counts
Ola wants no mercy! She wants a chance to continue living, so that the disease doesn't take away her most important thing - LIFE!
Please help us save her life.
Ola is not asking for a miracle.
She is asking for the opportunity to heal
and to live with dignity
despite everything the disease has already taken from her.
