We say goodbye to Michał...
It is with deep sadness that we received the news of Michał’s passing. His story showed just how much determination and strength a person facing such a difficult ordeal can possess. On behalf of the entire Foundation, we extend our sincere condolences to Michał’s family and loved ones. May the memory of him remain a source of warm recollections. March 31, 2026

An inconspicuous lump sparked a dramatic fight for life
In early 2020, Michael noticed a small thickening between the fingers of his left hand. At first it did not arouse fear; called a ganglion by doctors, it seemed a trifle, something that was expected to disappear as imperceptibly as it had appeared.
With time, however, came pain, swelling and the first tests that took away any illusions. The biopsy result brought a dramatic diagnosis - Enzinger's epithelioid sarcoma, a highly malignant tumor.
A long and painful journey began: surgeries, lymph node removal, six weeks of radiation therapy. Then came two years of deceptive calm, during which one could have believed the disease had gone away. However , in 2023, the cancer returned, this time in the forearm. Another surgery, another round of radiation therapy, and once again the shadow of amputation hanging over the future. Three months of calm, and then another blow: metastases, new foci of the disease, each one more severe than the last. In May 2025, the doctors had no choice left—the only chance to save his life was to amputate his left arm along with the elbow joint.
Daily life after amputation
On May 19, 2025, Michał underwent an amputation. Follow-up tests show no new signs of the disease, and he is gradually regaining his strength. His goal is to return to normalcy—the life that defined him before his diagnosis. He still dreams of travel, sports, and the activities that have always brought him joy. He wants to remain a source of support for his wife and loved ones, just as they are for him today.
The road to independence
To regain his independence, Michal needs a prosthetic arm, which costs several hundred thousand zlotys. It is the one that will allow him to return to daily comfort, drive a car, work full time and, above all, live without constant restriction. At the same time, it is necessary to adapt the car so that he can safely travel and perform his professional duties.
Without this help, every day will be a struggle against the limitations caused by the amputation. With your support, however, it can become a new beginning—a path to a life that is once again his own.
