fundraising

A child learns empathy and selfless help from adults. Therefore, from an early age, it is worth developing in him a sense of responsibility and concern for others. An excellent example of this are charity collections in kindergarten. This is not only an opportunity to help a person in need, but also a way to integrate with peers and... great fun with parents and caregivers. Do you want to organize charity actions in the kindergarten? Bet on helping through fun!

Mom, dad - I am imitating you!

Adults are the child's role models. The parent, the caregiver, the kindergarten lady are his first teachers. And this is not just about learning from textbooks. By their behavior, adults show the child how to act in a given situation. They teach empathy, compassion, responsibility. They show that people are different, and some need special help from other people. That's right. How do you teach a child to help selflessly? A good example is a charity collection in a kindergarten.

Most often, charity collections in the kindergarten are held for a sick person - it can be either a friend of the toddlers from the kindergarten or their parent, a needy child living in the area.

How can a kindergarten help a sick child?

Helping a sick child can take many forms. Usually it is a collection of money in the kindergarten for charity. It does not necessarily have to consist of tossing coins into a can. In the case of preschoolers, it is worth betting on collections that will engage them. Thanks to which they will feel that they have a real impact on helping another person. Such charitable actions in kindergarten build a sense of value in toddlers, and the children themselves are more motivated to act.

The emotional support of the sick child should not be forgotten either. During cancer treatment, contact with peers is often limited. Recording a video for the sick person with greetings or making a laurel for him or her will certainly interest the children, and the little Fighter himself, thanks to the support of his colleagues, will gain energy to continue fighting the disease.

How to organize a collection in a kindergarten?

Although adults are responsible for organizing and running the kindergarten fundraiser for charity, it is worth asking the children about their ideas for the event. They will be assured that their voice counts, and this will translate directly into their involvement in the event. Ideas for a charity event at the kindergarten mainly include bazaars, including but not limited to:

  • handicraft fair,
  • baked goods fair,
  • Fair of used things (toys, books, clothes).

For handicrafts, a good option would be to sell works made by the little ones themselves. These can be drawings, plasticine works or hand-decorated Christmas ornaments. Such charity events combine help with great fun. They develop the manual skills of preschoolers and their creativity.

How to organize a charity fair in a kindergarten?

The organization of a charity event in the kindergarten should be determined at a meeting of parents with the staff of the institution. The director of the kindergarten gives permission to hold the event. When the date and time of the fair and the purpose of the collection are established, children should be included in the further stages of preparation. Helping to set up stands, arranging things on tables and, above all, playing the role of vendors will certainly interest them. It is worth ensuring that the child has the opportunity not only to prepare an item for the fair, participate in its sale, but also to buy at least one small item from the stand of his choice.

Charity collections in the kindergarten - if not a fair, then what?

Kindergarten fundraisers for charity are not just bazaars. Raising money for the treatment of a person in need can take the form of a picnic, a sports tournament, or even a disco with the participation of parents of toddlers. These can include raffles or collecting money for cans. It's also worth asking for help from local businesses. Many of them are willing to give to charity. Perhaps they will be willing to purchase gifts for the raffle or rent sports equipment for the family picnic?

A charity collection in a kindergarten can also be based on the realization of some goal. When it is achieved, the sponsors of the action pay funds for the person's treatment. Assistance in kind

Charity actions in the kindergarten do not always mean fundraising. Sometimes helping another person simply means taking the time to do so. Many establishments take part in actions like write a letter to a senior citizen. A charity collection in a kindergarten is very often also an in-kind collection. Collecting food for a local shelter, toys for hospice children, jointly creating a Christmas package for a needy family. There are many more ideas, but they all have one thing in common - the desire to help selflessly.

Charity collection in kindergarten, benefits everyone

Charity actions are not only about helping a person in need. It is also the integration of the community. Due to the age of the preschoolers, their parents, guardians and staff of the institution are also involved in the organization of the event. As already mentioned, selfless help is a lesson in empathy, sensitivity to the needs of others. It is also an opportunity to make new friends, develop creativity, discover leadership qualities in oneself.

Getting involved in helping a sick person also means creating health awareness in children. And although it's a difficult topic, it's extremely important. Education about health, how to take care of it, what the doctor's job is or, finally, how their sick friend feels will certainly help the child get used to the new situation and emotions.
