Update
"Doctors are fighting not only for Staś's life and health, but also for his kidney."
Below, we give the floor to Staś's mother, who can best describe the journey her son and their entire family are going through.Dear friends,
On January 14, Staś underwent a tumor biopsy. The results confirmed that it was neuroblastoma. In addition, the test confirmed NMYC gene amplification.
What does this mean? The NMYC gene is responsible for regulating cell growth and division. Its amplification means that it is present in excessive numbers of copies in cancer cells. This causes cancer cells to divide faster and the disease to progress more aggressively. In practice, this means that Staś requires very intensive, specialized treatment and is considered a high-risk patient.Staś has already gone through first cycle of chemoimmunotherapy. It was an extremely challenging time for him. The first 4 days of the cycle is a continuous, round-the-clock infusion of chemotherapy. On the fifth day, the immunotherapy drug Qarziba is administered. (dinutuximab beta) - an antibody that helps the immune system recognize and destroy neuroblastoma cells.
During this cycle difficulties also arose. During the infusion, the vascular port stopped working. Fortunately, thanks to the tremendous persistence and determination of one of the nurses, Ms. Kasia, it was possible to restart it. We are incredibly grateful to her for that. Staś may undergo 2 to 5 such treatment cycles. We will begin the second cycle around February 25. After its completion, Staś will undergo a series of imaging tests in Wrocław and Warsaw to check the effects of chemoimmunotherapy.
Doctors are fighting not only for Staś's life and health, but also for his kidney. The next stage of treatment will be surgery to remove the remaining tumor. If chemoimmunotherapy proves very effective, there is a chance that kidney removal can be avoided. We firmly believe this will be the case. Now Staś is at home. He is recovering, gathering strength, cuddling, and trying to just be a child. On Monday, we return to the hospital and begin the next stage of this difficult journey.
Thank you for being with us.
Your support – every share, every donation, every kind word
February 19, 2026Dear friends, we are sharing the latest news about Stasiu.
Staś has completed his chemotherapy protocol. CT, MR, and MIBG imaging tests performed in Warsaw have provided very important and long-awaited information: the tumors have clearly shrunk, some of the lesions have receded from the bones, and the rest have decreased in size. Bone marrow involvement has also decreased.
We also managed to isolate cells for the planned autologous transplant, which is another important step in the treatment. Staś also underwent bridging chemotherapy.
He is currently recovering from treatment and fighting infection. We are waiting for a biopsy date to be set and decisions to be made regarding the next stages of therapy. Stasi will undergo two cycles of chemoimmunotherapy in the near future.
Every day brings new challenges and uncertainty—it all depends on the current test results.
After the holidays, however, we were able to spend a few days together. This time together greatly strengthened Staś, giving him energy and putting a smile on his face, and was priceless to us."We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for every form of support, presence, kind words, and prayers. They truly carry us through this difficult time."
January 9, 2026Staś is currently after his second cycle of chemotherapy.
Due to the intensity of treatment and the need for further diagnostics, she will remain in the hospital for some time to come. More tests lie ahead, including genetic testing - due to the presence of cancer in Mom's close family. In recent days Staś underwent MIBG scintigraphy in Warsaw (using radioactive iodine-123). The study confirmed previous MRI results: The presence of bone marrow and bone metastases - mainly in the craniofacial, spine and hip bones. The result of the N-MYC gene amplification test, which helps determine the aggressiveness of the disease, is still to come, but in Stasio's case it no longer affects treatment. From the beginning, doctors have implemented the Rapid COJEC regimen, used to treat high-risk neuroblastoma - it's one of the most intensive chemotherapies used in children. We have more weeks of hospital stay ahead of us and the continued fight for our son's health. Every form of support - financial, emotional and prayerful - is extremely important to us. Thank you for your past help, commitment and heart from you. October 6, 2025

Our sunshine
Staś is a child full of joy - cheerful, smiling, always eager to play. At home he brought light, in the nursery he was the apple of the aunts' eye, calm and loved by everyone. Nothing foreshadowed illness.

Not so long ago, he was learning new words, running after a ball and enjoying vacations with his grandparents. Today, his childhood was interrupted by a diagnosis that no one expected.
Innocent beginnings hid the drama
During the vacations Staś began teething. The initial symptoms - inflammation in the mouth and fever - seemed natural. However, as time went by, more signals appeared: pallor, lack of appetite, lethargy, abdominal pain. Blood tests revealed a dramatically low hemoglobin and the need for an immediate transfusion.
Diagnosis that took the ground away
An MRI showed a huge tumor in the retroperitoneal space - 11 × 14 cm, filling the abdominal cavity, compressing the right kidney, moving the liver upward and invading the chest area.

A tumor the size of two adult fists is a dramatic discovery in such a young child. To make matters worse, examinations revealed infiltrations on the bones of the skull, spine and the presence of cancer cells in the bone marrow. The final diagnosis: stage IV neuroblastoma with metastasis to bone marrow and bone.
Shattered family's daily life
Staś has already started chemotherapy at "Cape of Hope". His mom watches by his side day and night, and his dad takes care of his older son at home - four-year-old Nicholas, who misses and wants his mom and brother to come home as soon as possible. The family's daily life has been torn between home and the hospital, and every day is a fight for the life of their younger son.
Why is your help needed?
Stasio's basic treatment is reimbursed, but this is only the beginning of a long and difficult road. We already know that there will be costs that we will have to bear ourselves. That is why we ask for your support. Every zloty is a chance for Staś to beat the disease and recover.
