The symptoms were quite alarming, as the abdomen hurt "differently than usual" and was also accompanied by back pain.
Diagnostics began, a blood test and an ultrasound. On the ultrasound a lesion was noticed, but the doctors were not sure what it was so another test was ordered this time a CT scan.
The CT scan showed that the liver was "clean," but there was a lesion on the pancreas. However, the picture wasn't quite clear so it was decided to run an MRI scan, which showed that it was, however, on the liver and liver cavity that there was a large lesion.
The process of treatment began, at first an operation during which the tumor was removed along with part of the liver (two lobes) and a lymph node in the liver hilum on which there was a metastasis. Samples of the tumor were sent for histopathological examination, and the result was unequivocal-malignant neoplasm, intrahepatic bile ducts of the liver
After the operation, chemotherapy was started, of which there were 17 cycles, lasting until September 2023. After that, all was well for a few months, follow-up examinations were successful and it might have seemed that Beata would return to full health....
Unfortunately, in May 2024, further lesions appeared on the liver, and a PET scan was suggested, to which our client was referred, but unfortunately the possibility of carrying it out was prevented by the National Health Service because it was deemed not necessary.
The surgeon to whom Beata was referred at a later stage of her treatment renewed the referral for a PET scan, which came through this time. Its result confirmed the fears, there is a large spread at the colon and pancreas.
At the moment, our client is waiting for chemotherapy to be administered again, as well as for immunotherapy; however, for various reasons, the start of treatment has been greatly delayed.
The funds raised during the collection will be used to cover the cost of ongoing treatment, proper diet and supplementation, travel to the hospital, and subsequent rehabilitation
