Update
Today there is much sadness and silence in our hearts. Anna passed away after a long and difficult battle with the disease.
She was a person full of warmth, gentleness and goodness. Despite the pain, she was able to smile, think of others and believe that a better time would yet come.
She left behind the memory of a strong, yet extremely sensitive woman. To her loved ones we extend our sincerest sympathies. We join with them in these difficult moments with our thoughts and hearts. November 06, 2025 "If we want to prolong your life a little more, we have to operate." - Ania heard after the examination. Consultations with professors in Berlin and Poland confirmed the progress of the disease. Cancer infiltrates are increasingly irritating internal organs, so another very difficult operation is scheduled for September 2025.Because of the cost, the procedure will take place in the country. The same professor will try a third time to cut out all the outbreaks to give Ania another year of life.
Liver in crisis: jaundice and stents
For the past two months, chemotherapy was withheld - liver parameters were over 300 times, bilirubin was "gliding", skin and eye whites turned yellow. In August, a bile duct prosthesis was urgently inserted; in the coming days, it will need to be replaced with a larger one to ensure the best possible drainage of bile. When chemistry cannot be administered
Denied cycles are a blow - especially after such a long road. Anya has had a total of 24 administrations of cytostatics and a HIPEC procedure (intraperitoneal chemotherapy during surgery). On top of that, she has progressive polyneuropathy - pain, numbness, limitations in movement. Today, Ania lives on a pension. She has three beloved children. Monthly expenses for therapy and recovery run into thousands of zlotys. "I am still here. I have the gift of life and appreciate every day, although lately I haven't enjoyed much. For all the support, meeting, prayers, I thank you." - ANNA August 27, 2025
Explore the history of
A world that fell apart quietly
It all started shortly after Annie's 40th birthday. Fatigue, frequent fainting, anemia - symptoms that do not alarm yet - they can be lived with. The shocking diagnosis came only after several months.
Mucinous adenocarcinoma of the large intestine with dissemination to the peritoneum - a rare cancer, extremely aggressive and difficult to treat.
Surgery that takes away to save
In December 2023, Anna underwent her first surgery to remove the tumor. Aggressive chemotherapy proved ineffective. The cancer did not let go - it was stronger. The decision was made to perform another - more serious surgery. CRS+HIPEC surgical procedure. For seven hours surgeons fought the cancer, cutting out organ by organ. As a result of this desperate attempt to save her life, Anna lost as many as seven organs: ovaries, fallopian tubes, spleen, part of the liver, gall bladder and a piece of peritoneum.
The hope that awaits in Berlin
Despite painful treatment, cancer continues to wreak havoc on Anna's body, and the forms of treatment available in the country have run out. During a consultation in Berlin, there was hope to halt the progression of the disease. However, it's a long-term, expensive and unreimbursed therapy.
Because of the cost, the procedure will take place in the country. The same professor will try a third time to cut out all the outbreaks to give Ania another year of life.
