The fight against cancer is a journey best undertaken together—with the help of the right people and organizations experienced in caring for cancer patients. At Cancer Fighters, we have been providing support to sick children and their families. We know what you’re facing and what kind of support you need.
Where can I find help for a child with cancer?
Learning that your child is ill is a difficult time for any parent. On the one hand, you fear for your child’s health and life and want to show them support; on the other, you’re struggling with your own emotions and feelings.
Support for children with cancer with cancer is, of course, provided by medical facilities. It’s also worth seeking support from a cancer foundation. This is a place where both your child and your entire family will receive help at every stage of the patient’s treatment and rehabilitation. A cancer foundation is also a community of cancer patients and their families. It offers the opportunity to share experiences, exchange advice, or simply spend time with people who are going through what you and your family are experiencing.

How can I get assistance from a foundation for a sick child?
If you would like to receive assistance from a cancer foundation, please contact us. At Cancer Fighters, we have been providing support for sick children and their loved ones—including psychological, financial, and organizational support. Write to us or call us; you can also submit an online application form (you’ll find it on our website). Once we’ve reviewed the medical history of your little Warrior, we’ll begin working together. Our assistance for sick children is tailored to the current needs of each child. Thanks to the support of the foundation and donors, Cancer Fighters’ beneficiaries can, among other things, access non-reimbursable treatment methods, rehabilitation stays, receive psychological counseling, or get help organizing transportation for treatment.
How does the foundation help children with cancer?
Support for sick children primarily involves organizational, financial, and psychological assistance. But that’s not all. At Cancer Fighters, we also strive to bring a smile back to the faces of our brave Warriors. We visit them in the hospital, often together with the foundation’s volunteers. A visit from a famous athlete or influencer, a shared conversation and some fun, workshops, or a gift—these seemingly small gestures have a huge impact on a child’s well-being and motivation to continue fighting the disease.
Do foundations help cover the cost of treatment?
One of the statutory goals of cancer foundations is to provide financial assistance to sick children. At Cancer Fighters, this takes several forms. We will set up an individual subaccount for your child, where funds from donors will be collected. These funds can be used for the child’s treatment and rehabilitation, the purchase of medications, and transportation to the hospital. The second form of financial support for sick children and their families is social assistance. Our beneficiaries can receive up to 2,000 PLN per month to cover daily expenses not related to treatment. This includes, for example, the purchase of clothing, hygiene products, or books and school supplies. Social assistance is provided upon request by the beneficiaries (submitted on behalf of the child by their legal guardian).
How does a fundraiser for a sick child work?
The fundraiser is being set up on the Cancer Fighters fundraising platform. Organizing a fundraiser for a sick child is our responsibility. What does this mean? We create the title and description of the fundraiser, promote it regularly on social media, and involve well-known figures from the worlds of the internet, sports, and culture.
Donations from donors, funds collected through the 1.5% tax donation program, and proceeds from completed charity campaigns are deposited into the child’s subaccount. Funds from the account are disbursed upon your request. You must include invoices or receipts (scanned copies are acceptable) confirming the costs incurred for the child’s medical treatment.

The foundation's support for families of cancer patients
Cancer Fighters is not just support for sick children, but also for their loved ones. You can get help from an OncoAssistant, who will guide you through the organizational aspects of treatment and working with the foundation. We also prioritize mental health. A child’s illness places a tremendous emotional burden on the entire family. At Cancer Fighters, we provide psychological support for families of children with cancer —this includes both support groups, where families can talk with other families of cancer patients, as well as workshops and lectures addressing mental health and patient care. These are led by experienced psychologists and therapists.
How does a foundation that helps children with cancer work?
As a public benefit organization, we rely on donations from our supporters. The funds we raise enable us to provide appropriate assistance to sick children and adults. We ensure full transparency in our operations, so that not only we as a foundation, but also those we support, can count on regular support from donors, including donations from the 1.5% tax.
The number of people in need of help is growing—and volunteers are helping us care for them. These include public figures, the local community, the media, and employee groups. Thanks to them, we can effectively promote fundraisers, organize charity events, and launch relief campaigns. Would you like to join us? Find out how you can help people with cancer.
