Abdominal pain
In August 2024, our son Oliver began complaining of stomachaches. At first, the pain subsided after taking medication, but it returned more frequently with each passing day. There were nights when the pain would wake him up. Concerned, we took him to the doctor right away.
A long diagnostic process began, filled with tests, waiting, and uncertainty. Each new result raised more questions than it answered. When we finally heard the diagnosis, our world came to a standstill.
Stage IV neuroblastoma. A cancer that has already metastasized extensively.
The daily struggle
Since the day of his diagnosis, our lives have been a constant struggle. Among other things, Oliver has already undergone surgery to remove a tumor from his left adrenal gland, mega-chemotherapy, an autologous stem cell transplant, radiation therapy, and immunotherapy. Every stage of treatment has been an enormous challenge, but Oliver has bravely faced each new obstacle.
Today we are in Barcelona, where our son is continuing his treatment with the targeted antibody Naxitamab. Our daily routine consists of constant trips between the hospital and our rental apartment; our lives revolve around one appointment after another, medical tests, and the hope that the treatment will produce the desired results.
Oliver is also battling aspergillosis, intestinal obstruction, and severe malnutrition.
Between Poland and Spain
Our daily life consists of living out of suitcases and constantly traveling between Poland and Spain. Although I would love nothing more than to be with Oliver every day, reality forces me to return to Poland frequently. I have to work, and the nature of my job doesn’t allow me to perform my duties remotely.
Childlike carefreeness
Before he fell ill, Oliver was full of energy and childlike joy. He loved riding his bike, spending time outdoors, and playing soccer, just like any other boy his age. In the evenings, with a twinkle in his eye, he would watch his idols online.
Request for help
We are reaching out with a heartfelt request for support in our son Oliver’s treatment. This is an enormous burden for us—emotionally, logistically, and financially—but we refuse to give up on our son and are doing everything we can to give him a chance at a healthy life.
Every donation, every share, and every kind word means the world to us. It is thanks to these gestures that we can continue treatment and keep moving forward on this difficult journey.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your support.
