Leosia's parents would like to express their heartfelt thanks
for all the donations, words of encouragement, offers of non-material assistance, and support in the broadest sense. They are deeply moved by the sheer amount of kindness they have experienced in recent months.
The little fighter bravely made it through the first three stages of the hospital treatment protocol for acute lymphoblastic leukemia in children. There were some delays due to infections and low blood counts, but unfortunately, this is standard in cancer treatment. Now Before that, the final—and most intensive—treatment regimen, designed to destroy any remaining leukemia cells that may have survived earlier treatment.
Leoś has been granted disability status because his cancer treatment requires him to undergo chemotherapy for at least the next two years, which in turn imposes many restrictions on his life.
Unfortunately, at that time he won't be able to go back to preschool, because his doctor has advised him to avoid crowds. For the family, this means a period of sacrifice and caution, and for Marta—Leoś’s mother—it also means giving up her job, which in turn has had a negative impact on her financial situation. The funds raised not only cover the costs of non-reimbursable medications, supplements, and tests, but also help Marta pay her monthly bills. April 23, 2026

Disturbing signs foreshadowed an unexpected tragedy.
From the age of one, Leo had a tendency toward mild anemia, but supplementation was effective, and the results of tests conducted in July 2025 were so good that his parents believed their son was returning to full health.
At the end of October, there was a sudden change. A follow-up test showed significantly elevated immature granulocytes. Concerned , his parents took him to a private hematologist, who ordered detailed diagnostics. The result of 12% blast cells took away their everyday peace and stability.
There was no room for hesitation. They immediately took their son to Przylądek Nadziei (Cape of Hope) in Wrocław, where Leoś underwent a series of tests: ultrasound, X-ray, MRI, eye examination, and bone marrow puncture. The result left no room for illusions and stopped time. The diagnosis was clear: acute lymphoblastic leukemia type B.

Immediate treatment
From the very first hours of his stay in the hospital, Leoś has been under the care of an oncology team. Steroid therapy was implemented and the first chemotherapy protocol was started, which marked the beginning of a long and difficult journey.
At this point, Leon has at least two months of uninterrupted hospital stay ahead of him . If the treatment works as it should, in the coming months he will be able to go home on leave from time to time, where his one-year-old brother Ignaś is waiting for him .
The family is constantly on the move so that Leoś is never alone.
The illness completely reorganized the lives of his parents: Marta and Alex. Marta watches over Leosia's bedside during the day, and at night she goes home to be with her younger son (Leosia's half-brother). During this time, Alex takes over care at the hospital.
Marta was supposed to return to work after her maternity leave ended, but everything had to be put on hold. Alex also reorganized his work and daily life. Although they are no longer in a relationship, they now function as one entity. They look for solutions, share responsibilities, and stick together because Leon needs them both.

Little Ignaś is waiting at home.
One-year-old Ignaś does not yet understand why he does not see his mother as often as before, but he senses the change. He misses her. His grandmother has taken over caring for him during the day so that Marta can be with her sick son Leosiu in the hospital.
For such a small child, this is also a time of instability and separation that will be difficult to make up for. Marta is worried about how long isolation will affect her children's development. Her fear is quiet, persistent, and present every day. She keeps thinking that separation, restrictions, and emotional tension may leave a mark that cannot be erased later.
The parents are asking for support because treating leukemia involves not only pain and fear, but also enormous costs that they cannot bear alone. Any help, even the smallest, is a real support in this struggle and gives the family a glimmer of relief in a world that today consists of fear, waiting, and hope.
