Second phase of treatment
Julia znajduje się obecnie w trakcie drugiej konsolidacji według protokołu PALG ALL7 <55 r.ż. Ph(-). This is one of the most challenging stages of therapy, and unfortunately, it’s proving to be exceptionally difficult for her.Complications and a weakened immune system
Recently Complications arose following a lumbar puncture, which further weakened Julia’s body and hindered the treatment process. Her severely compromised immune system also remains a major challenge, making her body particularly susceptible to infections, which unfortunately occur frequently and complicate the course of treatment. The most recent round of chemotherapy triggered a very strong, adverse reaction in her body. Despite the passage of time, her blood test results are not improving as they should. This poses a major challenge for the doctors and is a situation requiring further intensive treatment and constant monitoring.![]()
Long weeks in the hospital
Julia has been in the hospital continuously for over two months now. In total, she spent over three months there this year. That’s a very long and exhausting period, both physically and mentally. To date, Julia has already undergone 28 rounds of chemotherapy, as well as countless blood and platelet transfusions, and has been given antibiotics, steroids, and other medications necessary for her treatment.Gratitude for your support
Despite all the difficulties, Julia refuses to give up and fights every day to recover. The support she receives means the world to her. It gives her strength during the toughest moments and helps her get through this incredibly challenging time. We sincerely thank you for all your help, for sharing the fundraiser, and for your kind words to Julia. Your support means the world to us. April 13, 2026

The symptoms came quietly.
In May 2025, the first blood count showed only slight deviations, which did not foreshadow the impending disaster. In the summer, pain in the shinbone and a decline in athletic performance appeared, signs that were difficult to detect in the everyday life of an active person accustomed to fatigue and exertion.
In September , another blood test left no room for doubt. The results had deteriorated significantly, and on October 3, the diagnosis was delivered bluntly, without any time to prepare. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia. As much as 99.5 percent of the cells in Julia's bone marrow were cancerous.
Exhaustive stages of treatment
Just a few days later , Julia was admitted to hospital, where she remained continuously for two months. She began intensive cancer treatment based on powerful drugs used in the treatment of acute leukemia, which were administered in strictly planned cycles, day after day, without long breaks for the body to regenerate. The aim of the therapy was to stop the disease, which was developing in her body at an extraordinary rate, as quickly as possible.
The young woman's body was pushed to its limits. She developed severe cytopenia, and the course of therapy was complicated by a post-traumatic epidural hematoma, which forced the discontinuation of PEG-asparaginase administration and the postponement of lumbar puncture. At the same time, she contracted COVID, further weakening her body, which was already overwhelmed by treatment.
Between the hospital and home
Today, Julia is staying at her family home, awaiting further hospital admissions and the next stage of therapy conducted according to the ALL-B protocol. However, returning home does not mean a respite. The disease does not go away with a change of location, and everyday life is still subject to the rigors of treatment, diet, restrictions, and constant vigilance. Her life, which used to be full of movement and people, has been reduced to a few rooms, silence, and a calendar marked by test dates and hospitalizations.
Everyday life that has become a task
The illness forced Julia to move back to her family home, give up her job, and almost completely sever her existing social relationships. Sport, which had been her daily routine and source of balance, was put on hold with no promise of a return. Her loved ones function in a state of constant readiness, subordinating each day to treatment, commuting, care, and attempts to remain calm in a situation full of uncertainty.
Support is needed
Julia's treatment involves costs that cannot be avoided and which increase with each month of therapy.
