The worrying symptom turned out to be the onset of the illness
The first sign that something was wrong was the bleeding. At first, it was hard to imagine that this symptom could be a sign of a serious cancer. Further diagnostic tests and histopathological examinations revealed a devastating diagnosis: stage IIB cervical cancer. A difficult battle for her health and a normal life began.
Devastating treatment and daily pain
Agnieszka is currently undergoing very intensive treatment, including chemoradiotherapy. She has already undergone—and still has ahead of her—dozens of difficult procedures: 28 radiation sessions, 4 brachytherapy treatments, and 6 cycles of chemotherapy. The treatment takes a heavy toll on her body. The tumor causes severe pressure and chronic pain, which makes even basic activities difficult. For Agnieszka, even simple daily activities have become a huge challenge—getting out of bed, walking up stairs, bending over, or sitting for long periods. Every day requires immense strength and a struggle against her own body.
The illness robbed her of the chance to live a normal life
The cancer has affected every aspect of Agnieszka’s life. Because of the pain and her treatment, she had to put her job and studies on hold. At the same time, she tries every day to be a mother to her six-year-old daughter, who needs her presence, care, and a sense of security.
Comorbid conditions—such as depression, anxiety, neurosis, and hypothyroidism—add to the burden, making it even harder to cope with treatment and daily life. Despite her extreme fatigue and pain, Agnieszka tries not to give up and keeps fighting.
She used to help others; now she needs help herself
Before her illness, Agnieszka was an extremely active and passionate person. She worked as a volunteer first responder, studied education, and had an interest in medicine and astronomy. She loved to sing and host karaoke, making sure everyone else had a good time. Recently, video games have also become a shared passion for Agnieszka and her daughter; the time they spend together helps them forget, if only for a moment, the difficult reality of her illness.
The funds raised will be used to cover pain medication, psychiatric and psychological support, rehabilitation, and transportation costs related to her treatment. Please support Agnieszka. Every bit of help gives her a better chance at receiving treatment without worry.
